Indie Wed 2011 Summer Soiree
Thursday, July 21, 2011 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM (CDT)
Please note: Tickets are available online through Wednesday, July 20th. If available tickets may be purchased at the door.
The Indie Wed Summer Soiree is the newest addition to our line up of events.
Indie Wed is a THE alternative to the traditional bridal expo. For those in the midst of wedding planning, Indie Wed offers a one stop shop for all the best wedding artisans and professionals from the Midwest and beyond.
So what exactly does "Indie Wed" mean? Not only is our focus on promoting and supporting small, independent (indie) businesses, but also couples with an independent spirit. For some that may mean a full-blown unconventional fete while others may simply want to incorporate handmade items from local artisans. Indie Wed is wedding planning... redefined.
Indie Wed is not just a show but also a market where many of the artists will be selling their wares on the spot.
Our first ever Summer Soiree is an evening cocktail event featuring the best in independent wedding professionals. The evening will include live music, DJ's and dancing, live cooking demonstrations and tastings, a bridal lounge, and much more.
When: Thursday, July 21st, 2011 from 5-9pm
Location: Room1520 in Chicago

Indie Wed was founded by Kelly Maron Horvath in 2009. Kelly owns another business, Paper Stories, which is a local design and letterpress shop that focuses on creating innovative and stylish paper goods that are also environmentally responsible. Wanting to showcase Paper Stories' unique invitations but frustrated with the traditional wedding expo, Horvath decided to organize a special event specifically for independent designers and couples with an independent spirit.
Indie Wed, LLC and Paper Stories believe that it is also important to be socially responsible and regularly donate a portion of their profits in the form of micro-loans to entrepreneurs in developing nations as well as funding classroom projects in the U.S.
